Mazurka- by Juan M.S.

Could you believe there are Poles who’ve never danced a mazurka?

Could you believe that lack of romanticism?

There’s Chopin, there are beautiful Polish girls ready to blossom

to the rhythm of this syncopated dance.

But there are people who’ve never had the chance

to have good taste in music,

wandering from techno to heavy metal,

deafening their ears, numbing their feet,

not even a nice bachata from time to time,

or a tango, a polka or a Cuban son.

Could you believe there are French who’ve never read Verne?

And Argentinians who don’t like yerba mate?

It’s so easy to enjoy life and, however,

there are people all around the world

who insist on not doing it.
